The Existing Problems and Solutions of Dyeing and Finishing of Polyester/Spandex Blends

Existing problems

The biggest problem with dyeing polyester/spandex blends with disperse dyes is poor dye reproducibility and color fastness.

When dyeing polyester/spandex blends, disperse dyes that are contaminated with spandex must be removed to achieve color fastness. Due to the large amount of such contamination, the current pollution is relatively easy to remove, and most of the reducing agents and alkalis use discharge dyes.

However, this type of dye has the following drawbacks, and it is easy to cause problems of poor reproducibility and color fastness.

The condition dependence (temperature dependence, pH dependence, etc.) during dyeing is large.

In the heat setting after the reduction cleaning, the degree of re-bleeding of the dye is relatively large. Although the contamination is removed, the color fastness is still reduced.

When dyeing polyester/spandex blends with disperse dyes, the following tendencies occur. When the temperature rises and approaches 100 degrees, most of the dyes stain the spandex component and slowly transfer from about 110-120 degrees to the polyester component. Dyed.

Polyester/spandex blended dyes also have the following problems. Taking into account the physical properties of spandex (embrittlement, etc.), there are many cases of staining at about 120 degrees. When the dye is dyed at a high temperature, there are problems such as insufficient dyeing of polyester fibers and various dyeing conditions, and problems such as a large change in the dye-dispersibility of polyester and spandex.

Improve methods

Based on the premise of 120-degree dyeing of polyester/spandex blends, the existing improvement measures for various problems can be concentrated on the following three points.

1

Inhibits the contamination of spandex with disperse dyes, allowing dyes to be effectively dyed in polyester.
↓
In order to prevent the contamination of spandex and the dyeing of polyester
Kayaresister-UN can be added through a dye bath

2

Use of disperse dyes that can take care of dyeing reproducibility and color fastness
120 degrees Celsius excellent dyeing property for polyester, as a dye better than temperature dependence, pH dependence, finishing resistance
Can use Kayalon Polyester LW dye

3

Reduced disperse dyes that have been contaminated with spandex when cleaning
Cleansing agent with excellent decontamination effect as a cleansing agent
Can use Kayasoaper-URE

Polyester/spandex blend fabrics are widely used for underwear and jackets that can fully exert their elasticity. Recently, as in Japan, even in overseas countries, the amount of processing has increased, and demand has continued to increase.

However, there are various problems in the dyeing and finishing process of polyester/spandex blend fabrics (such as: dyeing reproducibility, dye spots, and poor color fastness), and these problems have not yet been solved. The company believes that it is necessary to solve these problems. To this end, as dye professional manufacturers have developed new dyes (MPL, MP series) and new dyeing auxiliaries (scouring agent, leveling agent, anti-staining agent, soaping agent, and Bath to restore the net lotion), and has been pushed to the market.
