Glossy appearance of knitted fabrics

Gloss is the light reflected from the surface of the knitted fabric and it is one of the important appearance features of the knitwear. The gloss of knitted fabrics is affected by factors such as the properties of fibers, yarns, and organizational structure. Fibers with a triangular cross-section are better than those with a circular cross-section, and silk and rayon knitted fabrics have better gloss. Soybean protein fiber knitted fabrics have the silky luster, hemp fabrics, polyester fabrics, cotton fabrics, wool fabrics, and hair/polyester fabrics are once reduced in gloss. The yarn twist is larger and the structure is even, so the fabric luster is better. With a relatively flat surface structure, the fabric has a better gloss. Weaving gold and silver threads into the fabric will make the gloss better. Chemical fiber raw materials use extinction, semi-extinction treatment, fabric luster will also change. The arrangement of the yarns on the front and back of the fabric will affect the gloss. For example, the front surface of the flat needle (weave fabric) is brighter than the reverse side, and the velveteen fabric is better than the back surface of the cashmere flat fabric. The flat fabric is more glossy than the plain fabric.
